Who we are looking for:

As a talented technical business analyst, you will be responsible for collecting user stories, managing the product backlog, as well as writing high-quality change requests. Where needed, you'll contribute and maintain detailed specifications for the product functionality. You'll be a part of a brilliant, high-paced, customer- and quality-oriented team!

• think in terms of systems, intuitively understanding how any given change will impact the adjacent areas of product.
• are scrupulous and attentive to detail and leave no stone unturned when doing work. At the same time, you know when to apply the 80/20 rule and prioritise "done" over "perfect".
• have a hunch about development complexity, which helps you make better product decisions.

Responsibilities:

Across most responsibilities outlined below, you will communicate with the key stakeholders as needed (CTO, CPO, engineers, QA, support, and documentation).

• Collect, process, file and prioritise key product initiatives, user stories, and individual work items.
• Write high quality, consistent and detailed specifications and change requests to guide product development. Document functional and non-functional product requirements.
• Conduct acceptance testing of completed development work. 
• Enter detected defects and follow-up work items into the issue tracker.
• Advise the technical support team.

Requirements:

• Analytical mindset and a love to set things straight, leaving no room for variance.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Initiative and desire to improve the product you are working on.
• 1 year of experience working as a system analyst / technical business analyst.
• Excellent skills in searching and systematizing data from public sources - e.g. for researching best practices, competition, or establishing legally determined product requirements.
• Excellent communication skills, willingness and readiness to work in a team.
• Experience in writing functional and technical documentation in English, such as: specifications for necessary changes, user manuals, test scenarios / cases.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working in the ERP or financial reporting industry.
• Basic knowledge of accounting.
• A STEM college / university degree is a plus.

Terms:

• The compensation range for this position starts at U.S. {{job-posting-rate}} per hour, the final figure will be determined after the interviews.
• 100% remote environment with flexible working hours. Your schedule should still be reasonably predictable and responsiveness in communications is a must. You should be able to provide at least 3 hours overlap with the EST (Montreal) time zone.
• Full-time for Canadian citizens; for overseas candidates, an hourly arrangement with at least 35 hours / week availability.
• A stable internet connection and videoconferencing capability is required (with camera on).
